Better grilling: With flexible grill skewer recipes

Good food brings people together – and that works best when everyone feels welcome. If you want to accommodate all of your loved ones' dietary requirements when planning your BBQ, you can prepare a vegan or vegetarian version of the classic chicken skewers.

BBQ for every taste

Tandoori chicken skewers with vegetables

Ingredients:

5 g fresh ginger
2 garlic cloves
150 g yoghurt (3.5% fat)
2 tbsp olive
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp chilli flakes
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
6 sprigs fresh coriander
1/2 tsp salt

600 g chicken breast
1 tbsp rapeseed oil

1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
2 red onions
1 courgettes

Instructions:

Peel and finely grate the ginger and 2 garlic cloves and remove leaves from the coriander. Cut the chicken breast (600g) into 4cm cubes.

Place the yoghurt; olive oil (2 tbsp), garam masala, chilli flakes, ground turmeric, ginger, garlic and salt (1/2 tsp) in an airtight container. Mix with a tablespoon. Add the pieces of chicken and marinate in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

Cut the red bell pepper and green bell pepper into 3cm chunks. Peel and cut the 2 red onions into 3cm wedges and cut the courgette into 1cm-thick rounds. Thread the chicken breast, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, red onions and courgette onto skewers.

Heat rapeseed oil (1 tbsp) in a griddle pan over a high heat. Add the chicken skewers and fry for about 15 minutes. Place the chicken skewers on a serving platter. Garnish with the coriander leaves.
