Store avocados correctly - depending on ripeness

Fruit and vegetables should be stored differently depending on their ripeness and variety. Unripe avocados, for example, ripen best in a dark place without direct sunlight. If they are soft and ripe, they should be moved to the refrigerator. In the fruit and vegetable drawer, they can stay fresh for up to 14 days thanks to the regulated temperature control. This way, you always have perfectly ripened avocados on hand, which can be combined in many ways in bowls, as a spread, or with savory dishes.
Did you know? There are different temperature zones in your refrigerator. Since cold air sinks, the bottom area is the coolest and is particularly suitable for fruit and vegetables. Meat and fish can be stored in the compartments above, while less sensitive foods can be placed in the middle and upper areas.

Keep ginger fresh longer - chilled or frozen

Ginger is a real nutrient package and a little helper for the immune system, especially in winter. It can stay fresh for up to 21 days in the fruit and vegetable drawer of your Bosch refrigerator – significantly longer than with normal storage in the pantry. If you want to keep it even longer, you can also freeze ginger in portions, for example, peeled in slices or finely grated. This way, you always have a portion on hand, whether for homemade ginger shots or savory dishes.

Enjoy pumpkin for months - cool, but not cold

Pumpkin is a true classic in autumn – but with the right storage, it can also be enjoyed outside of the season. Whole, undamaged pumpkins (e.g., Hokkaido or Butternut) keep best in a dry, dark place at about 15 to 20 °C, for example, in the cellar, and thus stay fresh for up to 60 days. This way, you avoid mold formation and always have delicious pumpkin ready to use for soups, curries, or casseroles.

Mushrooms are super versatile, but storing them can be tricky, as they only last a short time in the plastic packaging from the supermarket. They stay fresh for up to 8 days in the fruit and vegetable drawer of your Bosch refrigerator, but you just have to keep a few things in mind: Always remove the plastic packaging and store them loosely or in an air-permeable paper bag. To prevent mushrooms from collecting moisture, they should never be washed or stacked. If you like, you can also blanch the mushrooms or sprinkle them with a little lemon juice to extend their shelf life in prepared form in the refrigerator.
Stored this way, they can be used in all your favorite dishes – from aromatic stir-fries to creamy sauces to vegetarian classics.

Tomatoes full of flavor - just not cold!

And then there are the candidates who don't like it cold at all: tomatoes, for example. They are sensitive to low temperatures and therefore do not belong in the refrigerator. They feel most comfortable at room temperature, protected from direct sunlight. The green part should remain on if possible, as it helps keep the tomatoes fresh longer.
